The pause between movements.
HR for boutique fitness studios
In a boutique fitness studio, the interlude is what lives between your instructors and leadership. It's where coaching happens, where feedback lands, where performance conversations play out, where the culture gets built one small decision at a time.
interludehr is for that space, so your studio can keep moving.
Meet the Founder
Hi, I'm Amanda! interludehr is where two sides of my career finally meet.
For over six years, I've grown my HR career from fast-paced tech startups to a billion-dollar company with more than 10,000 employees, where I now serve as a strategic HR Business Partner. Today, I partner with an employee population of 600 to 1,000, working alongside leaders from supervisors through SVP and C-suite executives across functions ranging from frontline teams to Legal and Finance. Over the course of my career, I've guided hundreds of leaders across industries through complex employee relations, organizational change, performance calibration, and culture-building initiatives. It's been a steady arc of growth, driven by a simple principle that's stayed the same throughout: strong leadership takes structure, and people teams thrive when that structure is in place.
Before I ever stepped into HR, I was working front desk at a boutique cycling studio. Years later, alongside my HR career, I stepped onto the other side of the mic and became an instructor. I've seen the fitness industry from both angles, and the more time I've spent in it, the more clearly I've seen a gap.
What I've seen, both as an instructor and in the time I spent working front desk, is that no one is really teaching studio leaders how to manage people. Managers get promoted into leadership because they’re strong instructors, not because someone showed them how to give feedback, sit through a hard conversation, or hold their team accountable in a way that still feels human. That gap has real consequences. Instructors and front desk teams burn out faster than they should, morale takes a hit, and studio owners are left wondering why the culture they've worked so hard to build isn't quite holding together.
interludehr exists to close that gap. Boutique fitness studios deserve the same quality of people strategy that leaders get at the enterprise level, translated for how studios actually run.
That's what I hope to build with you.
Amanda
